Description

Polymer wave plate futures carefully alighned birefringent polymer sheets laminated between two precision N-BK7 wondows. Polymer materials offer a lower birefringence than quartz and can therfor be made into true zer order wave plates of reasonable thickness. This also offers excellent angular field of view since this is true zero order wave plate. Polymer wave plate is much less sensitive to incident angle than quartz wave plate. A polymer retarder changes by less than 1% over ±10° incident angle.
