Types of illumination units ( lighting equipment)

1. Illumination unit with the LED lamp
(TS-IL-A3, TS-IL-A5, TS-IL-A3E, TS-IL-A5E,TS-IL-B3A, SPL-100A)
LED has a longer life, lower heat emission, and lower power consumption when compared to tungsten lamps and halogen lamps.
There are illumination light sources, which LED is directly used for illumination and which the light guide is used.
2. Illumination unit with the light guide
(LGG-1000SF)
There is one type of light guides that use the optical fiber and metal flexible tubes, which provide easy handling.
3. The light guide supporter
(LGH-1, LGH-2)
It supports the LGG-1000SF light guide and fixes the illuminating position.
Because it uses the universal arm, the light guide position and direction can be moved and fixed freely.

Selecting the illumination unit

1. When a longer distance is required between the sample and the illumination unit (heat source)
Select the light guide type in order to set the illumination unit, which is a heat source, apart from the sample.
It is also effective to use the lens to collect the light and directly use for illumination when the illumination unit is placed at the distance. However, it is difficult when a position and a freedom degree of the illumination unit are limited.
How to observe the sample:
When the sample is observed from right above the sample, lighting the sample from above is unavailable unless the illumination unit is integrated to the system. If the sample is lighted from any direction other than directly above, the light source can be attached to the microscope used for observing or the optical system. It is also available to use the oblique lighting or the ring lighting that are lighted from the periphery.
2. Requisites for using the illumination unit
Supporter:
A supporter that is used for fixing the illumination or the light guide is necessary.
When the universal arm type holder is used, the light guide position and direction can be moved and fixed freely.
In case of the interlock type light guide, fixing is available. However, there is a possibility that observing becomes difficult if the lighting position is not steady.
3. Light guide illumination unit
By using the light guide illumination unit, SPH-100 or SPH-150, the illumination environment can be freely created by combining the metal flexible tube, which provides easy handling of the light guide, the interlock type light guide, which has moderate hardness and can be fixed after bending, the light guide with the two-way light emitting port, the ring guide, and the light collecting lens.
4. LED illumination unit
By using the LED illumination unit, SPL-100A, the illumination environment can be freely created by combining the metal flexible tube, which provides easy handling of the light guide, the interlock type light guide, which has moderate hardness and can be fixed after bending, the light guide with the two-way light emitting port, the ring guide, and the light collecting lens.
